Our Hua Hin retreat last year was so successful, we’re hosting it again this year! You will have the opportunity to attend workshops, have private consultations with several authors, and work on your writing — all while enjoying this beautiful island where Thai royalty spend their summers.

About Our Retreat

We will have three workshops led by award-winning authors: fiction led by Singaporean novelist Balli Kaur Jaswal, nonfiction led by Thai-American writer & poet Ira Sukrungruang, and genre fiction led by New York writer Chantelle Aimée Osman. All workshops will require a manuscript submission.

You will also have the opportunity to have private consultations with AAL partners, Robin Hemley and Xu Xi.

The retreat schedule is forthcoming, but you can imagine that a typical day will include time for your private writing, at least one workshop session, and salons where everyone comes together to give readings and engage in conversations about publishing and the writing life. There will also be a welcome dinner on May 12, and a farewell BBQ dinner on May 19.
